What you can do in the design studio

Add text

Choose fonts and colours for names, numbers, slogans, or sash text.

Upload images

Drop in your own logo or artwork (PNG, JPG, or WebP) and position it on the product.

Design front & back

Decorate multiple print areas — each area is reflected in your price.

Save & reuse

Save your designs to your account and reopen or share them anytime.

Printing methods

DTF or embroidery: what is the difference?

Both methods are durable and professional, but they look and feel very different. The right choice depends on your artwork, garment, and the finish you want.

Direct-to-Film

DTF printing

DTF is a heat-transfer method made for sharp, full-colour artwork. Your design is printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder, cured, and pressed onto the garment with heat.

How it looks

The result looks bright, smooth, and sharply defined. Fine lines, small details, colour gradients, and photographic artwork reproduce well. The print sits on top of the fabric with a light satin finish.

How it feels

Small designs feel thin and flexible. Large areas of solid ink feel more noticeable because the transfer forms a smooth layer over the fabric.

Best for

  • Detailed or full-colour artwork
  • Photos, gradients, and small text
  • T-shirts, jerseys, hoodies, and tote bags

Keep in mind

It does not have the raised texture of thread. Very large solid prints can feel warmer or heavier than smaller, open designs.

Care

Wash inside out in cool water, use a gentle cycle, avoid bleach, and do not iron directly on the printed area.

Machine-stitched thread

Embroidery

Embroidery turns artwork into a stitch file, then a machine sews coloured thread directly through the garment. A stabilizer supports the fabric so the design stays neat and keeps its shape.

How it looks

The finish is raised, textured, and slightly glossy. You can see the direction of the stitches, and light catches the thread to give logos a premium, dimensional look.

How it feels

Embroidery feels firm and tactile because thousands of stitches build up the design. Dense areas are heavier than printed decoration.

Best for

  • Logos, names, monograms, and badges
  • Polo shirts, caps, uniforms, and jackets
  • Small chest or sleeve placements

Keep in mind

Photographs, soft gradients, and extremely tiny details must be simplified into stitchable shapes. Bigger or denser designs also add weight.

Care

Wash gently, avoid pulling loose threads, and press from the reverse side so direct heat does not flatten or damage the stitches.

Quick comparison

Use this as a starting point when choosing your finish.

Simple rule: choose DTF when colour and fine detail matter most. Choose embroidery when you want a raised, classic, premium finish.
